A Typical Day at Hollis Preschool

A Typical Day at Hollis Preschool provides children with a variety of learning experiences tailored to their individual needs. Teachers greet children individually as they enter the classroom to begin the day. Children are then free to play and explore, with opportunities to create art projects, build structures, join in dramatic and imaginative play, and socialize with friends. We then gather together for circle time, where children have a chance to share as a group. During this time, the calendar, weather and theme of the day are discussed and stories and show and tell are shared. The rest of the day includes exercise, music, crafts and snack. The day ends, weather permitting, with outside play. The school also schedules a variety of field trips throughout the year, such as visits to area farms, the fire station & local businesses.
